Research Analyst - Intern

Emerging Markets Political Risk Analysis (EMPRA) is seeking an intern to assist with research and the analysis of politics and public security in Mexico and the rest of Latin America. This intern will help EMPRA analysts draft daily, weekly, and monthly reports on key areas of interest for our multinational and diplomatic clients.



  • Directly contribute to the development, drafting, and publishing of EMPRA’s research products covering public security, politics, and energy in Mexico and the rest of Latin America.
  • Provide research assistance to analysts.
  • Gather information through interviews and meetings with policy experts and decision-makers in relevant fields.
  • Attend conferences and/or meetings with policy experts and decision-makers.


Basic Requirements:

  • Area of Study: Political Science, Latin American Studies, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of current events and politics in Mexico and the rest of Latin America.
    Proficiency in Spanish.
  • Excellent writing skills in English and previous research experience.
  • The ability to adapt to changing work requirements and adhere to deadlines is highly valued.
  • Candidates must be highly driven, organized and able to work independently.
