About the Role

Emerging Markets Political Risk Analysis (EMPRA) and its sister organization, Advanced Intelligence Solutions (AIS), are looking for a Deputy Director of Operations with strong entrepreneurial instincts and a passion for problem-solving. The individual in this position will play an integral role in developing strategies to build and implement technological capabilities, managing the firm’s projects and day-to-day operations, implementing new business strategies, working with clients, and developing new products and business areas.

The successful candidate will have experience in project management, building relationships with clients and other stakeholders, and ideally have experience in the consulting sector.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new business strategies
  • Create plans to engage new business areas (including the elaboration of new data-focused tools and services)
  • Manage various teams and ensure the completion of tasks
  • Build new teams to expand business areas
  • Use client feedback to strengthen capacities and deliver actionable results
  • Manage colleagues to ensure coordination across business areas
  • Facilitate business development
  • Implement and monitor compliance protocols
  • Manage the recruitment process with internal stakeholders
  • Facilitate the exchange of ideas across the EMPRA and AIS teams
  • Identify risks and develop and implement strategies to address them
  • Mange operational and administrative tasks

 

Required Traits & Capacities

  • 5+ years of work experience with at least 3 years in the consulting sector or a similar field
  • At least 3 years of experience managing others in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any business or social science-related field
  • Excellent English (both written and spoken)
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with clients to develop projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Airtable, and Keynote

 

Favored Traits

  • A master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Interest in data and technology and its application to risk mitigation
  • Knowledge of project finance
  • Knowledge of any of the following platforms/software: Wix, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite and/or Google AdWords
  • Familiarity with Mexico and/or Latin America’s security challenges and political environment

Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with the position offered to the successful candidate and their qualifications and experience.

Compensation packages for managers include a commission program based on business expansion.
